I fell in love with this family the moment I arrived… Dad was working in the garage and I could just tell he was a man with a mission! The fragrant cedar siding, the carefully planned landscaping, and the sound of power tools made me realize this man was creating something special. He showed me his amazing handiwork off the back of the house yet still a work in progress – the addition that will add more living space for the family. But the real masterpiece was the hand made indoor-outdoor fireplace with hand chipped hand laid stones. Wow! You could see all these kinds of personal touches throughout their lovely home!

Then Mom greeted me with such warmth and joy – I just knew this session was going to be something special! Although she wanted me to focus primarily on baby ‘S’, I was going to be photographing the entire family as well, so I was very excited!

Baby ‘S’ never had newborn pictures. She was born 7 weeks early because it became evident that mom and baby were both very much in danger. Mom and baby came though just fine, but boy did they give everyone a nice scare. Baby ‘S’ had a rough start, but now at 4 months old, she is just as happy, healthy and chubby as any 4 month old could be! Mom was now ready to have ‘S’ make her modeling debut! Here is a little sneak peek!

And mom wasn’t really wanting to be in these pictures, but I insisted on a few. Look how gorgeous she is!!

blog377

And I LOVE how you can just see baby’s nose and eyes peeking above her little hands in this shot. I have some similar shots with her full face showing, but I have to save some for the family’s gallery you know! So here’s a teaser…

blog374

Then there was little ‘D’. 19 months old and full of spunk! And as a typical toddler, he was not really wanting his picture taken. So, we just let him play and he loved every minute of it! He didn’t even mind my camera then!

blog376

This gorgeous little lady was so fun! Not a little girl, not quite a teenager… ‘E’ was a big help to me and was kind enough to show me her room and let me take some shots of her there. Here is one of my favorites…

blog3751

And who could resist dad with his little girl? I love this shot of him and ‘E’.

http://www.url2go.site/forumdelpoker.com: That's really thinking at an impressive level

This little one was pure sweetness! She did not want to sleep for us though. We had to reschedule her session because of jaundice that required light therapy. It was only a few days later than originally scheduled, but according to mom, baby ‘B’ decided after her therapy she no longer wanted to sleep all day!

Just look at how alert she was here! She gave me better eye contact than most older babies! Seriously – she would look at me every time I moved!

blog365

Mom finally got her to sleep for us about 30 minutes – it was nice and warm (ok, HOT) in our shooting area and she let me move her around a bit. Baby ‘B’ definitely made us work for these! This first one is in mom’s belly cast.

blog363

blog362

And while mom was trying to lull baby into a nice, deep sleep, we got a few shots of mom holding sweet baby ‘B’…

blog3691

And during the times when mom was feeding and rocking baby, I got to spend some super fun time with ‘E’. Isn’t she just gorgeous? She was a huge help the entire time and just as lovely as can be.

I mean seriously, a guy really can’t get much cooler than this. When Malachi asked me to do some commercial photography for his marketing business, I tried not to get too excited and jump up and down like a dork. He offers total marketing packages to businesses and has so many great tools to offer. You can see his site here but you just need to call him to get the full picture of what he offers his clients. To say it was a privilege to do this shoot is really an understatement. He is a genuinely awesome and relatable guy and his excitement just rubs off on you. I did his family session as well and just love these people! Malachi – it was a BLAST and I loved every second! I hope you enjoy the preview – more to come!

Sheryl: Excellent blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring wreitrs? I'm hoping to start my own blog soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I'm completely overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Many thanks!
