Anna Gross: I think my most memorable Valentines Day was Feb of 2009. Our family complete with our beautiful daughter and son. Something about being a mother and being surrounded by your family makes any and everyday memorable.

Leanne: A sweet Valentine's memory I have is Valentine's Day 2006. We had one month old twins and I was rarely getting out of my robe on a daily basis. When I did leave the house, it was for a few minutes to run to Walgreens for more diapers. A dear friend emailed me and said, "I'm coming over to keep the twins on Valentine's Day at lunch time so you and your husband can go out to lunch." She didn't say, "When?" or "If..." or "Let me know...", she just said, "I'm coming!" I put on real clothes, brushed my hair, and enjoyed a lovely lunch out with my hubby. It may seem simple, but at the time, it meant so much just to have a friend realize that need and do that for us!

cheryl: In second grade my boyfriend, Andy Avery, rode his bike to my house and brought me a box of chocolate covered cherries. How excited I was! My first love!

Maria: Freshman year of college. My then, crazy boyfriend, gave me a fire extinguisher and a curling iron for Valentine's Day. I lived in a dorm, I didn't need either and he meant them to be serious. I cried, he took me to dinner at a Greek place and then said, "you don't mind paying, do you?" Wow, really? Now I think it's hysterical but I had to live through it so it sucked back then. Memorable... Oh and no, we didn't last. I am happily married to a non-crazy man.

Tracy Emmons: Even when we were dating, my now-husband and I never really celebrated Valentine's day. Instead we believed our love should be celebrated everyday, not just once a year. However, Valentines Day 2007 we found out we were pregnant with our first child, JJ. What a wonderful way to honor our incredible love with the gift of the greatest love of our life!

Dawn: Our first Valentines day together. David bought me a teddybear that was holding a small box with a cross necklace in it. He put the bear in a box and scratched the bottom so I would scream and think it was a live mouse. It worked.

Cheryl G.: I have a dream!! My perfect Valentine's Day would be for my husband to whisk me away to somewhere warm on the beach for the weekend and my girls would come too.....but stay in a separate room with Mary Poppins:) And my husband would cater to all my needs.....foot massages, rubbing suntan lotion on my back, reading me romantic poetry, feeding me delicious Barbee's cookies and telling me over and over how much he loves me! Oh how I wish dreams would come true!!

Name change complete!!

June 14, 2009

I’m really excited about this new change! A little sad, too - Little Britches is a name that I’m sad to let go of, but find that I really need new branding to take me and my business in the direction that I want to go.

My new business name is Robbie G Photography. Here is my new logo:

robbieglogo8small1

Nothing is really changing - I just find that I’ve expanded my clientel to include teens, high school seniors, and adults so I wanted a more all-encompassing branding.

If you were following my blog under the Little Britches name, be sure to sign up again for the RSS feed! I love your comments and readership! None of the old blog posts are lost, either. I made sure all the archives transferred over here!

My new site is www.robbiegphotography.com. I will be keeping the Little Britches site active until I feel secure in knowing everything is all transferred over correctly, but be sure to bookmark the new one if you have the old one in your favorites.

Love you guys! I have a sneak peek to get up and a gallery to finish - I know I’m a little behind because of all that has been going on here! I’ll be caught up soon!

Meet Chloe!

May 27, 2009

I did not want a dog. Any kind of dog. I like being in a pet free zone. No pet hair, no accidents, no chewed up shoes…

Yet, we have Chloe. She followed my husband’s car home one day after several near death experiences on the main road behind our house. I felt sorry for her - she was such a sweet, gentle dog - I figured a family would seriously be missing her. She had quite the tic infestation so we picked off what we could and gave her a bath. That didn’t exactly do it with the whole tic thing (after several blood sucking creatures were found on our bed - um yeah we let her sleep on our bed), so we bought stuff at the vet to get rid of them. Remember, I didn’t want a dog.

Well, we put out fliers, an ad on Craigslist - nothing. The kids named her Chloe. She’s potty trained and does well on a leash and only chews a little (no shoes, thank goodness). I am still hesitant to call her our own - but we love her. I think she was an answer to the boys’ prayers who have been begging God for a dog. I must say, even though I have not wanted any pets, I’m kinda sweet on her.

So…. meet Chloe… who found her some people to call her own.

I wish I had remembered to post this sooner, but anyway, try to make this if you can! I wanted to let you all know about a speaker, Toneia Mayes, who will be presenting a FREE parent workshop tomorrow (Saturday, March 7) from 9am - 12noon at Arrow Heights Baptist Church. She speaks in schools and churches all over the country and I have personally attended one of her parent workshops. The information she has to share is invaluable and completely relevant to parents of teens and pre-teens. Plus she is a great speaker and presents the information in a fun and easy to understand way. It really is a must-see for any parent of a child ages 11-19.

Arrow Heights Baptist Church is located at 101st and Elm (161st E. Ave.) in Broken Arrow. In the back parking lot is another building separate from the main building…that is the student bldg. The workshop will be in Rm 101, which is thru the front doors to your right.

I just have to give a Hi Five to Tofurious for all the amazing and affordable resources for photographers. If you are a professional photographer and are looking for a cool Wordpress template (my blog is a Tofurious template), album templates, tutorials, textures, etc. you have to check these guys out HERE!

Ok, I’m stir crazy.  I am so ready for spring to get here.  I want to get outside and shoot stuff!  I will be needing some people subjects for a project coming up - still trying to get the date coordinated, so be on the lookout for the details.  If you want some basic info, just email me.  I’m needing teen and young adult boy and girl models and/or young couples.  I need older models since I’ll be doing some lighting experimentation and little ones just don’t have the patience to wait for shots to get set up.  Interested?  You’ll get some cool shots of yourself for free.  These will be mostly done in an urban setting.  I’ll have more info with date/time soon…

In the meantime, watch a panda sneeze.  Seriously, it will crack you up!

I’ve been making blog changes.  No really I have.  Seriously.  What do you think?  I like big images so this format allows me to plaster them up BIG!  Like 1000 pixels wide!  Whoo hooie!

I have a lot of new changes for 2009, actually - a few policy and pricing changes, some new products and a brand new look!  I’m working on a new logo as well and plan to do a dedicated site for teens/high school seniors and indie artists.  I realize ‘Little Britches’ isn’t exactly ‘mature’ sounding, is it?  I so love working with teens and adults that I really want a special place to showcase their portraits.  Keep watching for the new look and the new site!  I’ll be showing some product images soon, too!

And here is something to tickle your funny bone.  Taken from Fox News.

Zombies Ahead

Zombies Ahead

Transportation officials in Texas are scrambling to prevent hackers from changing messages on digital road signs after one sign in Austin was altered to read, “Zombies Ahead.”

I’m still a little foggy on the details, but it’s my understanding that the Little Lighthouse sponsored a number of Russian children to come to America for adoption.  The media attention wasn’t what it should have been for various reasons and now there are several children who didn’t get adopted who will be going back to Russia tomorrow unless someone steps in for them.  I really don’t know if my little blog can help, but I’ll certainly try by posting here!

Here are the children’s profiles and their pictures.  The contact information is at the bottom.  If you or someone you know has been considering adoption, please consider these beautiful children or feel free to pass on the information!

Lima enjoys math in her third grade class.  Her favorite season is summer because her orphanage sends kids to camp where they can swim.  She likes fairy tales; her favorite is a story about three pigs.  Lima is friendly and talkative, and she likes the color yellow; the orphanage social worker calls her the “sunshine girl”! Lima likes to help and receive attention.  She would like to be a doctor some day because she wants to help people feel well.  Her biological sister has been adopted by an American family; Lima dreams of seeing her again if she gets a chance to return to America.  She was able to speak to her sister on the phone Wednesday and she couldn’t stop smiling or saying, “I love you!” afterward.

Please also feel free to forward this information to anyone else who might be able to help us help the kids.  Please pray that we find the families we need in the next two days.
